On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed Recovery and Reinvestment Act into law, which has key provisions for the Solar Industry.
 
Among other things, Section 25D of the Act removes the $2000 cap on solar thermal installations, providing a full 30 percent tax credit for qualified solar water heating equipment.
