Accepting Orders In November For Q2 2010 Delivery

Solar Panels Plus LLC (SPP) was already in the process of moving some of our solar thermal manufacturing to the USA before there was an economic meltdown and long before there was any such thing as the economic stimulus package presented by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).

Beginning in November 2009, SPP will be accepting orders for it’s new
SPP-30A USA collector.

This is the same record-setting 30-tube collector that leads all others in SRCC tested performance. The new “A” model signifies that SPP will be using an anodized aluminum header in place of the industry-standard powder coated finish that was previously used, and more importantly, the SPP-30A will be manufactured in the USA primarily from USA sourced materials. The SPP-30A will ship with a “Buy American Act”  label. The SPP-30A product will be available for deliveries beginning late Q1 2010. The existing SPP-30 will continue to be available during a transition period.

In addition to creating jobs in America, the SPP Buy American Act compliant thermal collector opens up economic stimulus projects to high performance evacuated tube collectors. The ARRA contains a provision requiring Buy American Act compliance. Up until now, the only Buy American Act compliant solar thermal collectors on the market have been the lower-performance flat-panel type collector. The SPP-30A now gives federal, state, local government and .edu projects the option to specify and receive funding for high performance evacuated tube collectors.

The SPP-30A anodized header is designed to give the collector a more attractive appearance and longer lifespan in areas where acidic or salty air may deteriorate the standard powder coated finish that is typically used on this type of collector. The anodized finish will endure over many years even under harsh atmospheric conditions. No design, specifications or materials in the SPP-30A have been changed from the SPP-30, other than the exterior header finish. The SPP-30A is manufactured in the USA using more than 50% USA materials.
