Save Big With Solar Heating
Solar heating systems
consist of various applications including radiant
heating (hot water powered
baseboard or in-floor radiant heat) or forced air
space heating (integrates into existing forced-air
duct system).
The high performance evacuated tube collector
systems that SPP offers can support either of these systems,
we provide systems for retrofitting solar space heating
into an existing air
duct system or into a radiant floor/baseboard system.
There are
several ways a solar space heating system can be implemented,
including either using a solar heating-only system or a combined
heating and cooling solar
HVAC system (commercial buildings only, using an
absorption
machine).
The SPP solar space heating products on this
page deal with solar space heating-only applications using
an existing forced-air heating or air conditioning duct system
and radiant floor or baseboard systems, and are focused on
single family residential applications. The SPP solar space
heating systems can also be easily engineered to support
multi-tenant dwellings or commercial office applications.
The goal of a solar space heating system
is usually not to replace the legacy (existing) system, but
rather, to keep it from being used a very large percentage
of the time.
Solar space heating systems are typically designed to provide
anywhere between 65% and 95% of heating requirements.

With the rising
cost of fuel, whether it be propane, natural gas, oil or
electricity, it is simply becoming too expensive to rely
on our traditional methods of providing the residential and
commercial luxury of warm toasty interior heat. With our
current worldwide demands on oil, it simply isn't logical
to continue utilizing a resource that is of a finite amount.
As quantities of this resource dwindle, prices will continue
to increase at an alarming rate, resulting in an energy nightmare.
There is no hope in sight for a reduction in our energy costs.
Not only is their little hope for reduced energy costs, the
fossil fuels we have been burning for decades have had obvious
negative impacts on our ecosystem. It is time that we take
a step back and look to alternative energy sources, that
are both clean and more cost effective, for fueling many
of the luxuries we have grown so accustomed to over time.
At SPP, it is our pleasure to help you broaden your horizons
by helping you learn more and take action based upon how
extremely cost-effective and environmentally friendly solar
heating can be. Solar heating is the perfect application
of solar technologies. Instead of burning costly fuels to
provide your home or office with heat year-round, use the
over abundant heat energy brought to Earth by the sun's rays.
There has been a huge trend of both companies and households
changing to become more eco-friendly in regards to greenhouse
gas and excess carbon emissions. Not only is one of our solar
heating systems an excellent way to reduce your current heating
costs, it is a huge step closer to becoming a more “green” individual
or company. The energy created from our line of solar heaters
is completely clean and almost entirely free.
Currently, our solar space heating systems are available
for both commercial and residential use. They have both radiant
floor heating and traditional air duct applications. Imagine,
being able to efficiently heat your entire house by harnessing
the energy of the sun. You will not only be drastically reducing
your dependence on foreign energy sources, you will be doing
your part to help reduce our carbon footprint as a human
race and saving money.
One of the wonderful qualities of our evacuated tube solar
collectors, the thermal collectors that fuel our solar heating
systems, is that they are able to perform well even under
less that optimal conditions. Even in conditions where the
outside temperature is well below zero, our solar heating
systems will provide your home with the solar heat you need.
This means, even in extremely cold and snowy regions such
as Alaska and much of Canada, you can still utilize solar
energy to provide your home with heat. The round nature of
the tubes in our angled thermal collectors prevents snow
from building up and blocking the systems ability to take
in light. There have even been tests performed in which steel
ball bearings have been dropped on these evacuated tubes
to simulate hail, which the tubes still stood up against,
remaining undamaged.
Keep in mind, solar heating is not the only application of
solar powered technologies. We also provide full domestic and
commercial solar hot water solutions, and a SPP Pool
Heating product in which you use solar energy to warm water
for your pool to extend your swimming season. Solar energy
can also be used, through use of our absorption chillers, to
provide air conditioning solutions for commercial use. Solar
Panels Plus offers a line of solar HVAC systems, but they are
currently only available for commercial applications. Be sure
and contact us today for more information on our solar heating
systems that produce clean and cheap heating for your home
or office. |
